Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub cannot catch a break as he gets dragged on the internet once again. This time, for calling, Conor McGregor the greatest counterpuncher the sport’s ever seen.
Brendan Schaub might have retired from professional fighting years ago but he is still very relevant in the combat sports scene. Despite switching professions from fighting to comedy, Schaub still is very active in giving his reviews about current happenings of the sport. And if you know anything about Brendan Schaub, he is a huge fan of Conor “The Notorious One” McGregor.
In a recent episode of his podcast with Bryan Callen, a fellow comedian, Schaub boldly claimed that the Irish superstar is the best counter-striker the sport of MMA has ever seen. “Conor is a counter-striker. When Jake comes in, the timing and speed of Conor are second to none. We’ve never seen somebody better in sports history,” said the fighter turned comedian.
Brendan Schaub is notorious for giving out the wrong predictions in the past but he might not be completely wrong with the recent Conor praise. After all, it was Conor McGregor’s counterpunching that he earned his belts against Jose Aldo at featherweight and Eddie Alvarez at lightweight.

However, fans are upset that Brendan did not mention and respect, who is widely considered the greatest counter-striker of all time, Anderson Silva. Schaub can also be seen explaining how Conor McGregor would excel in a fight against the YouTube sensation, Jake Paul. Fans react to the former UFC fighter’s claims on Twitter with brutal trolls.
