Fans yet again find proof that Colby Covington only plays a character of a bad guy. UFC fighter shared the story of how ‘Chaos’ helped him when he needed it the most.
UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo recently secured his first UFC win against Takashi Sato at UFC Fight Night 224. Gorimbo expressed his gratitude towards God and the “great guy” Colby Covington in the post-fight press conference. The African fighter shared his story of how he fell into bad times following his loss in his debut fight. Themba lost via submission to AJ Fletcher back in February. His family reportedly left him on his own after this and Gorimbo fell into financial crisis.
This was when Colby Covington aided Gorimbo. Training together in Florida’s last MMA Masters, Covington would often bring food for Themba in the gym. “Colby Covington, he is such a great guy, man. Sometimes you (Covington) bring food for me at the gym,” he said. He revealed that with only seven dollars in the bank, Covington’s good deeds helped him push through till UFC Vegas 73.
He said that people merely throw criticism at Colby Covington without knowing who he truly is as a person. “People say what they say about him, but that guy is a great man. You have to know him to kind of know him,” he said. Fans really treasured this wholesome story and expressed their reactions on social media. A lot of people talked about the newfound respect they feel for Covington after hearing the story.
