UFC on ESPN 47 featured a middleweight main event between Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier. Rising lightweight star Arman Tsarukyan also fought on the fight card in Las Vegas. However, Manuel Torres stole the show at UFC on ESPN 47 with his unique elbow strike that knocked out his opponent. Torres and Nikolas Motta competed in the lightweight division. This is yet another elbow knockout in recent years.

The between Torres and Motta lasted less than two minutes. Torres went on the aggressive against Motta for as long as it lasted. He landed 13 of his 17 strikes. At the same time, he made Motta miss many shots. The fight did not last long as he landed a superb elbow strike to win the bout. The element of surprise helped Torres land the nasty elbow to get his performance bonus at the event.

Dana White and Sean Shelby were so impressed that they gave him a performance bonus for the fight. This was the second UFC fight of Torres’s career, and he did not disappoint. Paul Felder and Dominick Cruz were on commentary duty and rejoiced over the finish immensely. The Mexican fighter impressed everyone on his second outing as a UFC fighter.

Torres possesses a unique counter-punching ability and explosiveness to climb up the rankings of a stacked lightweight division. The Mexican fighter defeated Frank Camacho in his octagon debut via TKO and now has another knockout to his name. He will soon face elite competitions in the lightweight division. Only time will tell if Torres can establish himself as a legitimate threat in the lightweight division.
