Rose Namajunas‘ flyweight debut became a day to forget as she lost to Manon Fiorot. She also had a horrifying injury on her finger. Apparently, she dislocated a finger on her right hand. Despite the injury, Namajunas held her own against the bigger and stronger fighter.

Ariel Helwani posted the picture of Namajunas’ pinky finger on her right arm on X (formerly Twitter). The image on social media appalled the fans. Fans were scared for “Thug” Rose. Moreover, Pat Barry‘s corner advice became a point of criticism on social media. Barry’s attitude toward Rose did not sit well with the fans.

Namajunas lost again after losing her strawweight title in 2022. The fight showcased why Rose might not find success in the flyweight division. Namajunas looked significantly smaller than the French fighter. The former strawweight champion would need to rethink her future in the flyweight division. One could also argue that Rose’s best days might be behind her. She did not look the prime version of herself in the last two fights.

Fiorot would look at the title fight between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko with a keen eye. Fiorot has the physicality to create problems for either of them. She would be the first French fighter to win an undisputed UFC title if victorious in a title fight.

Namajunas has recovered well from setbacks before. She is one of the most beloved fighters in the UFC. She has also created iconic moments inside the octagon. Her first fight with Zhang Weili and the post and pre-fight dialogues remain some of the most iconic moments in women’s MMA.
