Sean O’Malley recently claimed an undefeated record after winning the UFC bantamweight title. It has stirred both intrigue and controversy among MMA enthusiasts. Sean O’Malley, replacing Aljamain Sterling, has ushered in a new era in the bantamweight division. O’Malley defeated Sterling in a thrilling UFC 292 showdown held at Boston’s TD Garden earlier this August.

Aljamain Sterling had earned three title defenses to his name. This had many people guessing if Sean O’Malley was a formidable opponent. O’Malley met expectations, skillfully knocking out Aljamain Sterling in the second round to claim the victory title. Sean O’Malley recently went on social media to make a bold statement. He wrote, “UFC CHAMP 18-0. 28 years old. Life’s cr*zy”. However, Elon Musk’s ‘Community Notes’ on X ( previously known as Twitter) quickly gave O’Malley a reality check. O’Malley’s proclaimed 18-0 UFC record is incorrect because he refused to accept his prior loss to Marlon Vera during their encounter in August of 2020.
