UFC fighters mock Dana White for self-imposed ‘punishment’ after slapping wife

Dana White finally addressed the media about the repercussions of his actions on New Year’s Eve. The UFC boss at a presser spoke to the media for the first time since the video of him slapping his wife went viral. UFC fighters have ridiculed white’s comments on this incident.

Dana White was caught slapping his wife at a nightclub in Cabo, Mexico. The UFC boss has addressed the media for the first time since this incident at UFC Vegas 67 media day. The UFC boss provided no excuses for his behavior. The combat sports world was curious to find out the consequences White would face for his actions.

In his case, White happens to be his own prosecutor. Al Iaquinta and Ramsey Nijem, two UFC veterans poked fun at the boss for his reaction. According to White, the biggest punishment he could face is to live with “guilt” and be labeled as a “domestic abuser”. Fighters found White’s take amusing and decided to mock the head honcho on Twitter.

“When I was suspended for 9 months for weed I think the better punishment would have been known as a weed user,” sarcastically wrote Ramsey. To add to this joke, former lightweight title contender wrote his own version of Dana White’s “punishment”.

“When I was suspended from winning bonuses for 3 fights for cursing at the crowd and wrecking a hotel room, I think the better punishment would have been to be known as a crowd cursing hotel wrecker,” wrote Al Iaquinta.

According to White, a potential suspension for his actions would harm the company and fighters more than him. Instead, the UFC president suggests the worst punishment he could face was losing the respect of his peers. Which according to him has already happened.

Fans, however, are split on this incident. The viewers took to Twitter to let their opinions be known on the Dana White – Wife slap scandal.

The UFC boss has urged the fighters, fans, and media to not defend his actions. While the fans appreciate White not making excuses, many believe the “punishment” he gave himself was ridiculous.
