No fighter in UFC history has earned fame like Conor McGregor. The Irish fighter is a brilliant striker with many accolades to his name. McGregor became the first fighter to hold simultaneous titles in two divisions. He holds the record for the fastest knockout in a UFC title fight. His lifestyle outside the octagon remains a mainstay of MMA media.
Recently, he mocked an online influencer who tried to replicate the fighter’s daily routine. The influencer, who works on fitness-related videos, tested McGregor’s routine for a day. McGregor found this on social media and wrote, “Thanks for the effort. Stick to your day job. There’s only one Conor McGregor“. The Notorious is a known fitness enthusiast with his own fitness brand. “McGregor Fast” provides fitness programs, apparel, and dietary supplements.
McGregor has amassed a massive net worth. His income is a result of massive fight purses and his business ventures. McGregor currently has a partnership with the clothing brand August McGregor, and he also owns alcohol breweries. Along with his Proper Twelve Irish whiskey, his brand new Forged Irish stout has been a huge success. The Irishman has a unique personality and lifestyle compared to other high-profile athletes.
Regarding his life in combat, McGregor is not as consistent as before. He just completed an unsuccessful season as a coach in The Ultimate Fighter. McGregor is scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in December.
Is Conor McGregor reduced to a brand name?
“The Notorious” Conor McGregor has given fight fans many memorable moments to remember. The most prominent would be his 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo and rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor is a fighter of the highest level. Conquering the lightweight and the featherweight division simultaneously remains an incredible feat even today. However, in recent years, McGregor has largely remained inactive.
His appearances in the UFC have decreased over the years. His last bout was against Dustin Poirier, which happened in 2021. Many blame his superstar status for his downfall in the combat field. A loss of motivation can also be witnessed through his tussle with the USADA. He clearly does not need the fight game anymore. The businesses that he owns may have turned him into a mere businessman.
His recent feature as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter lit up expectations for his fans. There were a lot of heated moments between McGregor and opposing coach Michael Chandler. The two will be fighting by the end of this year. However, if the Irishman wants to win, he must prioritize his training over everything else.
