Mayweather has called out Logan Paul before his scheduled bout against Mikuru Asakura
Floyd Mayweather will continue his run in exhibition boxing for the foreseeable future. In what will be a quick turnaround the undefeated boxer will return to Japan in order to face RIZIN’s Mikuru Asukara.
At 45 years old Mayweather is staying active in the ring much more than anyone expected given his age and wealth. In his series of exhibition bouts, this will be the first time that he fights multiple fights within a calendar year. The former world Champion started his exhibition career back in Japan when he beat the kickboxing champion at featherweight, Tenshin Nasukawa. He won the bout via a TKO that had many calling into question the authenticity of the exhibition.
While some fans have gone on to suggest that the reason Mayweather is accepting so many fights despite being retired is that he has gone broke, Mayweather himself clarified it is not to be the case. The boxer instead looks at it as a way to stay healthy in his old age. He said, ” My legacy is engraved in stone but it’s still fun to go around the world and entertain people from all walks of life”

Floyd Mayweather calls out Logan Paul during Mikuru Asukara’s press conference
Mayweather had arrived straight from his hall of fame induction ceremony in New York to be a part of the 1+ hour-long press conference in Japan. His opponent Mikuru Asakura meanwhile is a Japanese national who is a Mixed Martial Artist with a record of 16-3. Asakura’s background is in boxing with him also having a purple belt in jiujitsu.
The last time Mayweather fought under the Rizin banner he had his only victory in his exhibition career as he gained a first-round KO. (exhibition fights don’t announce the winners if they go the distance) so many people expect to see fireworks from the 45-year-old who is in it to apparently stay fit.
During the press conference, Mayweather also talked about Logan Paul and him complaining about to being paid. Floyd then asked Paul if that was the case and why is he so insistent on fighting him again. He also said he dragged out the fights against Paul to entertain the fans.
