“I’m only human I make mistakes” Floyd Mayweather reveals how ‘a** whooping’ in gym makes him better
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather once revealed in an interview how he always tried to better himself in the boxing gym.

Floyd Mayweather is considered one of the best boxers in the history of the sport. With an undefeated professional career, Mayweather fought some of the best of his era. However, the undefeated boxer admitted that he was prone to mistakes as well.
During an interview with comedian Steve Harvey, Mayweather admitted to questioning his place in the sport. Floyd Mayweather revealed that he too sometimes doubts himself or slacks in the gym.
They say an a*s whooping will humble you. And if a guy gives me great work in the boxing gym. I go home and say you gotta tighten up champ. You gotta get it together champ. And then sometime I go home and say 'Is this for me?' If somebody gives me some good work with. If I go to the gym slacking which I shouldn't go to the gym slacking but I'm only human. Mayweather’s professional career lasted from 1996 to 2017. He retired with one of the longest undefeated streaks in professional boxing history. Mayweather won titles in five weight classes, and successfully secured 12 world championships. He even won a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the Olympics.
Floyd Mayweather fought his final pro boxing match against UFC superstar Conor McGregor. The 40-year-old Mayweather went 10 rounds with McGregor and walked away with a TKO victory. It was one of the biggest PPV fights in boxing history. Mayweather is one of the richest boxers of all time with an estimated net worth of over $1.2 billion.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming rematch in 2024
Earlier the January, Manny Pacquiao announced that he would rematch Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition in 2024. The rematch will take place in Japan.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fought for the first time back in 2015. Mayweather defeated Pacquiao via unanimous decision at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Mayweather came into the fight with a record of 47-0 with 26 KOs to his name. Meanwhile, Pacquiao had a record of 57-5-2 with 38 KOs.
Both fighters made a substantial amount from their first fight. The fight grossed over $600 million. Mayweather reportedly earned $180 million, while Pacquiao received $120 million from the total revenue. It will be interesting to see what new records the two legendary boxers set in their much-anticipated rematch. Will Mayweather finally taste his first loss in decades? Only time will tell.
