At UFC 270, Francis Ngannou defeated Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision to unify the UFC heavyweight championship. Ngannou revealed after the bout that he had an injured knee prior to the five-round fight. He tore his MCL and injured his ACL during sparring sessions leading up to the fight. Ngannou underwent surgery in Los Angeles. Ngannou then returned to Cameroon, where he and his team did not want the surgery to interfere with their plans. The ACL will be fixed when he returns to the United States.
Francis Ngannou, the UFC heavyweight champion, has shown off his devastating punching power. The Cameroonian visited the UFC Performance Institute in 2019 when he set the world record for the hardest punch ever measured. With 129,161 units, Ngannou holds the record for the hardest punch ever landed, with Dana White putting that amount into context. His punches have a 96-horsepower rating.

The status quo of Francis Ngannou’s fighting career and his future
Ngannou has openly acknowledged his dissatisfaction with UFC’s treatment of him since winning the title in March 2021. Whether it’s in terms of his amount of activity or the money he makes from the times he does walk to the Octagon. Ngannou stated that his contract expires in December while defending his title against Ciryl Gane in a unanimous decision in January 2022 (see highlights). He’s made it obvious throughout this drama that he wants to fight Tyson Fury, even going so far as to meet his fellow champion in the ring following Fury’s most recent victory in April.
In a recent Q&A session on Twitter, A follower asked, Francis will he ever fight again, to which he responded by saying, “I’m just getting started bro! I have at least 5 more years to conquer everything.”
Ngannou, who is free to leave the UFC at the end of the year after completing his contract, has spoken out about what he wants in a new contract and the chasm that currently exists in negotiations between the two organisations.
