UFC Vegas 59 co-main event was a Welterweight showdown between Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque. Neal defeated Luque earning the performance of the night bonus in the process. After his dominant KO stoppage of the top-tier Welterweight, Neal called out #4 Gilbert Burns for a fight.

Following his win over#6 Vincente Luque, the American native is now on a 2- fight win streak. After tasting loss at the hands of Neil Magny in May last year. Neal bounced back to the win column by defeating Santiago Ponzinibbio by a split decision in December last year at UFC 269. With the win earlier today Neal’s records stand at 15-4.

While Gilbert Burns has suffered a Unanimous Decision loss at the hands of up-and-comer Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 273 in April, this year. Durinho was on a 6 fight win streak when he challenged the champion, Kamaru Usman, at UFC 258. However, he came up short in the match losing to the champion via TKO in round 3.

After defeating Stephen Thompson at UFC 264, Durinho again suffered a loss at the hands of Chimaev in one of the exciting fights of the year so far. With a record of 20-5, Durinho is looking to climb the ladder once again to challenge the champion for the title.

Recently, Durinho called out Jorge Masvidal for a fight in December. Both Burns and Masvidal are somewhat in a similar place as Burns is 1-2 in his last three while Masvidal is 0-3 in his last three outings. However, the fight isn’t official yet. Durinho seems eager to get a fight as soon as possible.

Well now he has to look no further as a rising contender in Geoff Neal has called him out. Neal’s opponent at UFC Vegas 59 Luque is a teammate of Burns and a very good friend. They’ve been training together for a very long time. After the victory, Neal called out Durinho stating that he wants a top contender after defeating #6 Welterweight.

Durniho was quick to respond to the callout, congratulating Neal for the win and further stating that he was happy that finally, someone called him out. He also added that if Masvidal doesn’t show up in November. He would be willing to fight Neal. Durinho tweeted, ” Finally someone called me out! About time! Congrats@handzofsteelmma Let’s see if Jorge will show up! Otherwise we might dance #UFCVegas59″
