Gilbert Burns talks about Conor McGregor! UFC’s biggest superstar, Conor McGregor suffered a career-threatening injury in his last fight against Dustin Poirier. Conor broke his foot in that fight, and he had to undergo immediate surgery. The doctors placed a titanium rod in McGregor’s foot, and now he is hell-bent on making a comeback inside the octagon.

McGregor is a former double champ, but he hasn’t won a fight since 2020. Even with these statistics, Conor remains one of the biggest superstars in the industry, and everyone on the UFC roster is trying to land a fight against him. Former lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira openly claimed that he would skip anyone to get a fight against Conor.

The Irishman, however, doesn’t seem interesting in coming back to the lightweight division, and he has gained quite a lot of weight while recovering. He envisions himself fighting in the welterweight division, and he likes his chances against the welterweight king, Kamaru Usman.

The list of welterweight contenders waiting to welcome Conor back to the division is endless, and Gilbert Burns too would love to get a piece of him. While talking to MMA Fighting, Burns said, “He’s not a welterweight but if he wants to fight at welterweight, I’d love to beat the s**t out of Conor.”

Burns added, “I think he’s not going to take that punch. I’m not even talking about grappling cause that’s not fair. Just take him down and maul him but a fight with Conor, it’s a win-win for me. I’m going to beat him up and I’m going to get a ton of crazy money.”

“You can’t handle the top five guys in that division. You can fight a couple of guys at 170 but he’s not a welterweight. If he really thinks he is, try some top five fighters in that division. I think it’s not fair. We’d just destroy Conor,” Burns concluded.

Conor has sure lost his footing in the company but he still remains one of the most dangerous guys out there. It’s not easy to come back strong after such an injury, but if there’s anyone in this world who can make it happen, it’s Conor fuc**ng McGregor.
