Usman and Cejudo asked GSP about the matchup against Khabib Nurmagomedov. They asked if Georges St-Pierre could have beaten ‘The Eagle’ if the fight ever happened. This is what St-Pierre said:

I think I would have beat him because if he would have come to put pressure on me, I would have put him down. I would have had the confidence to try to go for it.

Relentless pressure worked for Khabib in his career. No one could put the same pressure back at ‘The Eagle.’ On the other hand, GSP also had the same style. He took down all the fighters he faced. So, Georges St-Pierre felt he could defeat Khabib Nurmagomedov if the fight ever happened.

He complimented Khabib and his ability to measure distance and confuse his opponent whether he was going to strike him or take him down to the ground. Georges St-Pierre definitely studied his potential Dagestani opponent closely. GSP detailed all the ways Khabib would pressure his opponents. He then described his style, which he called to be more dynamic. It is sad that the matchup never happened.

Both fighters continue training and remain in shape even after retiring from the sport. However, it is unlikely that the two would ever get down to a fight. There were rumors about Khabib Nurmagomedov allegedly demanding $5 million for a grappling match at UFC Fight Pass last December. However, Team Khabib swiftly put down any such allegations and clarified that the talk never reached negotiations.
