Former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling is pretty active on social media. He recently retweeted a video that went viral because of its controversial nature and he even gave his opinion on it. Here is what happened:

The viral video shows a fight between a couple. It was the woman’s birthday and she got into a heated argument with her boyfriend. Allegedly the boyfriend had refused to pay for the 18 friends she had brought along to the restaurant to celebrate.

The boyfriend’s friend recorded the entire incident. He chipped in and asked why the boyfriend had to pay for everybody’s food. Meanwhile, the girlfriend kept on insisting that he should have paid for their food. The boyfriend got frustrated and said he was going to leave her. To that, the girlfriend replied by saying that nobody wants a broke guy anyway.

One user in the comments mentioned that this entire incident was not real but simply a social media skit. However, Aljamain Sterling refused to believe that. He replied to the comment and wrote that there was no way that the video was a skit. He refused to believe it and admitted that it looked way too serious to him.

Aljamain Sterling’s upcoming fight against Calvin Kattar at UFC 300

Nonetheless, Aljamain Sterling has his fight coming up at UFC 300. He lost his UFC bantamweight title in his last fight to Sean O’Malley. Sterling had demanded an immediate rematch. However, he did not get a chance for redemption.

Now he will face Calvin Kattar in the much anticipated UFC 300 mega event. The fight will mark Sterling’s featherweight debut as he moves up in the weight division. The upcoming fight will take place this April at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Now, the reigning champion in the featherweight division is Alexander Volkanovski. He too has an upcoming fight against Ilia Topuria at UFC 298. Sterling believes that a win at UFC 300 could lead him to a title shot against Alexander Volkanovski. It will be interesting to see if Sterling does manage to secure a title shot and become the new UFC featherweight champion.
