‘Live and die by the sword’- Glover Teixeira leaves a heartfelt message for his fans after his loss at UFC 275
Jiri Prochazka vs Glover Teixeira
Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira headlined UFC 275 this weekend and it turned out to be a massive fight. Teixeira was defending his light heavyweight title for the first time since winning it from Jan Błachowicz. The fight had everything that fans would have expected, it was thrilling, exciting, brutal, and technical as well.
Both the fighters were not in a mood of holding back and didn’t shy away from getting into nasty exchanges. Both took heavy shots and were still standing like rocks. After five rounds of back-and-forth action, many thought the fight would go to the judges. The Czech managed to submit the champion 30 seconds from the last bell.
Glover fought like a true champion, and he proved his worth to everyone in the MMA community. Daniel Cormier attended to Glover after the fight, and he asked him about his future, and Glover gave a reply that made fans lose their minds. “Definitely very skewed guy on the ground. You know I gave my all man. I say all the time live by the sword or die by the sword… It’s no excuses I have… He was hitting with some body shots that took my gas away. I was gased out. (But) Did I look 42 out there? No? Then I’m going to keep going,” said Glover.

Jiri paid his respect to the former champion and congratulated him on a war of a lifetime. Glover reacted to his loss with an Instagram post, he thanked all his fans for all the love and support. He also added, “We got hit a little bit there but I gave my best in this fight. But the hand came in the neck, I was very tired, and I think I didn’t believe. I should have turned, but now it’s too late to cry over spilled milk. Live by the sword, die by the sword.”
“I gave my best and it wasn’t enough, but let’s go for the next one. Thank you to all of you that root for me for the support. I’m fine, just a few cuts, but let’s go,” Glover concluded. Jiri would probably defend his belt against Jan Blachowicz, but given Glover’s performance, it is very likely that Dana White would book an immediate rematch between these two.
