Hill, on the other hand, was enjoying his first time away from his home country on the beaches before he hit training. He made sure he was covering all the beaches in the speedos that he noticed that everyone was wearing. Texeira showed his roots in the UFC Embedded Vlog series. He reminisced about the time when he just about escaped death when they were caught in the middle of a favela war in Rio de Janeiro.
Fans are happy that those bullets missed the former light heavyweight champion, or they wouldn’t have been able to see the veteran chase greatness. This Sunday he fights Hill to regain his title which he lost to Jiri Prochazka.
How Glover Texeira lost his belt to Jiri Prochazka
In UFC 275, Jiri Prochazka finally won the UFC gold against Texeira, when he submitted the latter with a rear naked choke in round 5. Even if the Croatian beast hadn’t submitted him, he would’ve still won the belt since he was ahead on points for 3 rounds.
At UFC 275 in Singapore, Prochazka won the light heavyweight title after submitting the veteran Glover Texeira in round 5 of the fight. Since then, Prochazka who was supposed to have his first title defense blew his shoulder out during training and pulled out. To not hold up the division, he even gave up his belt believing he was easily going to win it back when he comes back.
The belt, which is now vacant since the last light heavyweight title match was a draw, will now be on the line when Texeira fights Hill on UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro.
