“The Champ is Here” Glover Texiera lands in Singapore and displays ferocious speed on the pads ahead of UFC 275
The winner among Glover Texiera and Jiri Prochazka will face former champion Jan Blachowicz
Glover Texiera is finally landed to make his historic first UFC Title defense in the Lion City of Singapore. The UFC will be returning to the south Asian country after a long time since the covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions bought forth by it were too much for the organization to work around. Now after almost 3 years, the UFC is finally back in Singapore.
Glover is scheduled to make his first UFC title defense against #1 Contender in the light-heavyweight division, Jiri Prochazka. While Prochazka has had a scorched earth route to the title, demolishing any and all who stand in his way, many expect Old Man Glover to do wonders against the still green Prochazka.
The undercard for UFC 275 is also a massive draw in that Valentina Shevchenko looks to make her 7th consecutive title defense at flyweight against Talia Santos while Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Zhang Weili will run back what many consider the best fight in women’s MMA history but this time for 3 rounds. In their previous outing both women threw around 800 strikes combined and managed to produce one of the most consistently high-paced fights ever seen in the organization.
Glover Texiera is locked and loaded for UFC 275
Glover managed to shatter all expectations and records when he defeated reigning champion Jan Balchowicz at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi via a rear-naked choke becoming the oldest first-time champion in UFC history. Glover Texiera would want to defend his title quick but was put in limbo as it was decided that Jan would be battling Aleksander Rakic instead of a rematch for his title.
The Brazillian arrived in Singapore today less than a week away from the pay-per-view. Normally fighters arrive early in equatorial countries such as Singapore to acclimatize to the heat, however, seems like the Brazillian summers were enough for Glover Texiera to handle the heat on the other side of the world.
The champ was seen hitting pads in his hotel room only a few hours after he had stelled in. In a post by the UFC, Glover can be seen light sparring with one of his coaches, using the gloves as pads. Glover looks fast and powerful despite all the sweat that indicates the workout to have been a long one. who do you think triumphs this Saturday and reigns the Light Heavyweight Division?
