Jon Jones is in the final stages of preparation for the Championship fight against Cyril Gane for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. His legacy as the GOAT of MMA becomes undisputed if he can win the Heavyweight title at UFC 285. In an interview with RMC Sports, Jones took a shot against Francis Ngannou for not fighting him.

I don’t think I deserve any criticism,” Jones told RMC Sport. “I’m here. I’m here. Francis had the opportunity to face me and he opted out of the opportunity. If anyone should be criticized, it’s Francis Ngannou. If I’m correct, he was offered the biggest contract in heavyweight history. He had the opportunity to be a guy to dethrone me. He didn’t believe in himself. Francis didn’t believe in himself. He wasn’t willing to gamble on himself.”

Francis Ngannou is now a free agent following his departure from the UFC. Ngannou was offered the biggest contract ever for a Heavyweight in UFC history but ultimately rejected it, citing discontent with personal terms. Ngannou is keen to box either Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder in the future.
