The UFC Heavyweight Champion, Jon Jones, is one of the most ruthless and skilled MMA fighters on the planet. Recently, he got into a friendly wrestling bout against an opponent we never could have guessed. Throughout his career, Jon Jones has always had requests from fans worldwide to showcase his MMA skills. However, one fan, in particular, wanted a real-life experience of how it felt to compete against the GOAT. And Jones, as always, has never backed down from showing love to his fans.
Just like that, one of the fans, a little kid from the crowd, challenged Jon Jones to a wrestling bout. In a sporty manner, Jones accepted the bout and entertained the kid. The bout between the two was wholesome. As the kid started sizing Jones up, the crowd started cheering for him. Seconds into it, the kid went for Jones’s left leg, lifting it up to sweep the other leg. The crowd standing around Jones constantly cheered for the kid and were left ecstatic by watching a little kid trying to take down the UFC heavyweight champ.
Jones seemed to enjoy this fun competition with the little fan as he smiled all the way while the kid tried to take him down. Jones also commented on this Instagram post. He wrote, “Little kids going to be a beast.”
We’ve all seen the angry and dangerous side of Jon Jones when he goes up against his opponents. However, seeing a different and fun side of him when he engaged with fans outside of UFC events was fascinating.
UFC Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Gordon Ryan recently sparred in a light grappling match. Ryan is the GOAT of No-gi Jiu-Jitsu. Both fighters attempted takedowns and showcased their skills in the sparring bout. Later, Jones and Ryan both went on Instagram to show respect and gratitude towards each other.
Gordon Ryan had a lot of praise for the UFC heavyweight champ. Ryan wrote, “On the mats- when Jon talks about normal stuff, he can come off just like anyone you know, a regular guy. When he talks about combat, you see an intentional shift in his demeanor and thought process. You see the gears start turning, and you see the depth at which he understands the sport. I threw some complicated sequences at him, and he learned as fast as anyone. By day 3, he was exponentially better at drilling than he was on day one. He is truly an exceptional athlete and I’m very thankful I could be a very small part in this upcoming camp.“
Both athletes, at the top of their game, look forward to overcoming many challenges and achieving more greatness in their individual combat careers soon, as Jones goes up against Stipe Miocic to defend his heavyweight title in an upcoming UFC blockbuster event.
