“Volkanovski’s greatest strength”- Henry Cejudo breaks down Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway
Henry Cejudo- Max Holloway vs Alexander Volkanovski
Henry Cejudo believes Alex Volkanovski’s sense of distance helped him to easily win the fight against Max Holloway. At UFC 276 co-main event, Holloway challenged Volkanovski for the third time with the featherweight title on the line. It was Volkanovski who took the belt from Holloway back in 2019.
In the rematch, Holloway again got defeated but the results were highly controversial. The trilogy fight was supposed to be the final chance for both fighters to prove their dominance over each other. Earlier this year, Volkanovski defeated the ‘ Korean Zombie ‘ and looked amazing in that fight. The Australian continued his flawless form in this fight against Holloway and absolutely dominated the Hawaiian.
For five continuous rounds, Volkanovski toyed with Holloway and didn’t give him any chance to fight back. After five rounds, Volkanovski was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Henry Cejudo analysis the Holloway vs Volkanovski fight
Recently Cejudo posted a video on his YouTube channel breaking down what went down during the fight between Holloway and Volkanovski. Cejudo shared a small clip of the video and link on his Twitter account for his fans and followers to know.
In the captions, Triple C explained that Volkanovski’s best ability was his impeccable distance management. On the contrary, Holloway was not utilising his reach advantage. Cejudo revealed that Holloway lost the fight because his fighting IQ was not on the same level as Volkanovski. Cejudo wrote :
” Volkanovski’s greatest strength is his distance. Holloway never mastered the distance game. Max had the length over Alex, but he didn’t have the IQ advantage. Holloway stayed in boxing range against a guy that understands angles. “
Volkanovski has yet again proved why is one of the best fighters in UFC and deserves to be the #2 pound-for-pound fighter. Volkanovski has already cleared the division and is currently setting his eyes on the lightweight division. The fighter has expressed his intentions to move up and fight in order to stay busy.
