After years of anticipation, Jon Jones will be finally making his UFC heavyweight debut. The former light heavyweight champion is scheduled to fight Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in March. For his heavyweight debut, Jones has packed on a lot of weight and has been making changes in his training. A few months ago, he started training with former UFC double champion, Henry Cejudo to work on his wrestling and other technical aspects.
Recently, Cejudo posted a training episode of Jon Jones on his YouTube channel where the fighter talked about Jones’ new game plan. Cejudo mentioned that Jones was already amazing and all Cejudo did was make a few changes to his fighting.
He said: “Strategy, tactics, just adjusting him — he already has the right gameplan. I pretty much just tweaked him, added some things, head position, and things like that. I can’t share the rest.” According to Cejudo, Jones will get a finish and the fight will surely end before five rounds. “But I will say this: Ciryl Gane? Ciryl Gane ain’t going five rounds. He ain’t going five rounds with Jon Jones,” said Cejudo.
Triple C is highly competent as a trainer and had trained many UFC champions in the past such as Zhang Weili and Deiveson Figueiredo. It will be interesting to see what sort of changes the fighter helped Jones to bring to his game.

Joe Rogan talks about the upcoming mega-fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane

The Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane fight was a shocking one as nobody expected UFC to make this match-up. However, given that Francis Ngannou is no longer the champion, it only makes sense.
Joe Rogan in one of his recent episodes of JRE was talking with UFC welterweight, Belal Muhammad during the Jones vs Gane fight. The pair discussed how technical Gane is and how he can create a lot of problems for Jones in the fight. Rogan then questioned Jones’s hunger and cage rust after 3 years of hiatus.
“Cyril’s very well-rounded when it comes to his striking. Very interesting fight. So for Jon, it’s gonna be like can Jon take him down? Can Jon close the distance because he’s fast? Is he hungrier and even better,” said Rogan.
The fight fans are super excited to see Jones making his comeback after years and a fight like this is surely the cherry on the cake. According to many, it is going to be a highly technical fight where both fighters will try to systematically break each other.
