After a long retirement, Henry Cejudo will be making his return to the octagon at UFC 286 for the bantamweight Title. The division is pretty different compared to what it was when ‘Triple C’ left. The division is stacked with new and hungry killers as well as seasoned veterans. With names like Dvalishivli and O’Malley at the forefront, Henry seems to be jumping right amid the warzone. However, Henry is not worried about the current bantamweight champion or any of the top contenders. The fighter who the Former Champ Champ is on the lookout for is none other than Umar Nurmagomedov.

Cejudo in his recent Youtube talked about his potential opponents after coming out of his retirement. To everyone’s surprise, it seems none of the top contenders like Sean O’Malley or Merab worry Cejudo. According to Cejudo, “Umar is the most Dangerous guy in the division”. Cejudo who is infamous for trolling his opponents praised Umar Nurmagomedov. Triple C went on to say: “Umar is the most dangerous guy man, I am gonna say it right now. At 135 pounds, Umar Nurmagomedov is the toughest challenge for any of the dudes, including myself. He can wrestle, he can strike, he can box, he is well-rounded. He has seen his brother and his cousin win world titles, and he wants to be next.”

For those unaware, Umar Nurmagomedov is Khabib Nurmagomedov ‘s younger brother. He trains with the Khabib and the current lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev regularly. Their accomplishments and their commitment to the sport served to be a huge inspiration for Umar.

The Dagestani has a clean 16-0 record and has dominated all of his opponents inside the octagon. He is well-rounded in all aspects of the game and shows heavy potential to become the future Champion of his division.

Henry Cejudo shocked the world by announcing his retirement after his win against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in 2020. The decision surprised many as ‘Triple C’ was arguably in his prime years. However, he said that he wanted to retire so he could start his own family. Cut to today, Cejudo has completed his six months of drug testing and is eligible to compete again. His next fight is right away for the bantamweight title against Aljamain Sterling. This begs the question why is Cejudo coming back?

Henry Cejudo has arguably achieved everything there is to in the sport. With wins over the likes of Demetrious Johnson, Dominick Cruz and many more veterans,he had nothing more left to prove. In a recent YouTube video Cejudo talked about his return and the conditions behind it. He states, “It doesn’t get exciting any more. Of course, there are many great matchups but to me, I’m a conqueror. I always like to do certain things different. “

With everything said , Henry Cejudo is set to fight Aljamain sterling for the bantamweight title at UFC 288. After he takes back his bantamweight belt Henry plans to move up a weight class and become a three-division champion. Alexander Volkanovski will be his toughest battle to date. This will be a huge task and if Cejudo manages to pull this off he will become the first to become a champion in three different weight classes.
