Former UFC champions Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo have started a new show on YouTube. In one of its episodes, Cejudo had some good things to say about Bellator MMA. Here is what happened:
Henry Cejudo told Kamaru Usman that he had attended Bellator’s fights. He compared Bellator’s VIP section to that of the UFC. Cejudo declared that Bellator had a better VIP section than the UFC. He said:
Their VIP section was f****** way better than UFC’s bro. The way they closed it off because we were able to kind of just be near the cage or whatnot and we’re not separated. It was just cool man, we can walk, be near the cage, and stuff like that.
Last year in November, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) completed the acquisition of Bellator MMA. This marked the end of Bellator as an independent organization. Bellator had a significant roster, boasting over 200 fighters, and was known for paying its fighters well. With the acquisition, all Bellator fighters will become part of the PFL. Meanwhile, the Bellator brand will be reimagined as the “Bellator International Champions Series,” which will consist of eight events annually.
Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo recently launched the “Pound 4 Pound” podcast. It is a weekly show where Usman and Cejudo would team up to discuss various topics. These would likely include insights into their careers and the broader world of combat sports. They are already on their second podcast which will be available on YouTube and various other platforms.
Henry Cejudo wants to fight Brandon Moreno at UFC 306
Henry Cejudo is a former two-division UFC champion. He recently announced on YouTube that he wanted to fight fellow former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno at UFC 306. He wants the fight to happen on Mexican Independence Day at the Sphere in Las Vegas later this year.
Moreno had previously called out Cejudo for a bantamweight fight. Cejudo said he was done with the antics, and that he wanted to settle the issues once and for all. Cejudo and Moreno have a history as former training partners. The proposed fight aims to settle the longstanding rivalry between the two fighters and create a compelling storyline in MMA.
Cejudo retired from MMA after defeating Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 but later returned to action last year in May. Cejudo had said that he would retire if he lost his last fight at UFC 298. However, after losing to Merab Dvalishvili in that fight, he recently revealed that he would not retire.
