“There’s no stopping us”- Henry Cejudo teaches Demetrius Johnson the signature move he used to take him down
Henry Cejudo trains with Demetrious Johnson
Henry Cejudo and Demetrious Johnson had one of the best rivalries in the history of UFC. The two fighters have had their share of heated moments in the past but now the veterans are friends who train together. In a recent training session, Henry gave a live demonstration to DJ on how he got the better of him in the rematch.
While Henry Cejudo retired from professional fighting in 2020, Demetrious Johnson is still going strong as a fighter. The 35-year-old is fighting in the ONE Championship and ahead of his title fight, he has decided to train with his former rival at Fight Ready Gym. Demetrious is currently preparing for his battle at ONE 161 against Adriano Moraes for the title.
Demetrious has put aside his ego and rivalry from the past to train with the man that beat him at UFC 227. Both Triple C and Mighty Mouse have massive respect for the other. Johnson recently said, “He’s honestly very good. A lotta people don’t give him the respect for what he’s accomplished in mixed martial arts because of the cringe or whatever. But he is really f**king good.”
Henry Cejudo explains how to pull off the famous “inside trip” move
Henry has been doing a series on his social media called the ‘Technique of the Week’ where he breaks down some of the iconic fighting techniques he showcased inside the octagon. In the previous episode of ‘Technique of the Week’, Henry explained how he was able to knockout TJ Dillashaw in his fight. Today he posted a video of him taking down the great Demetrious Johnson with an “Inside Trip”.
DJ, who was a victim of this technique in his fight against Cejudo was very humble to put his pride aside and learn the technique. Watch Cejudo explaining the move with Demetrious and a fellow training partner from Fight Ready gym in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Henry and DJ have fought twice in the UFC where each got a win against the other. In their first meeting, Mighty Mouse managed to knock out the Olympian in the very first round. In the rematch at UFC 227, Cejudo won the fight via decision. Both, DJ and Henry are legends in the UFC and it sure is very wholesome to see former legendary rivals train with each other.
