Former double champion Henry Cejudo reveals the advice he gave to Aljamain Sterling before UFC 292. Sterling lost his title to Sean O’Malley in the second round when O’Malley knocked him down with a punch and landed a barrage of punches to TKO him. Cejudo took to his YouTube channel where he revealed that he gave Sterling the exact advice he needed to defeat his opponent.

Henry Cejudo revealed a series of texts between him and the former champion. Sterling asked Cejudo for advice about his fight against O’Malley and how he should go about it. Cejudo advised Sterling to be careful of O’Malley’s counter-attacks and slick movements. He told Sterling to focus on his own defense and not let his guard down. Cejudo said, “Hands up and close defense right away, He will be dangerous at the beginning of rounds 1 and 2. But don’t give him that”. He gave Sterling the accurate advice that if used would not have cost him the title.

“Triple C” also warned Sterling about the dangers of Suga’s fake shots that he uses to confuse his opponent. He said that he believes if Sterling does react to O’Malley’s fake shots then his opponent will be able to easily understand the distance and land the knockout punch. He also told “Funkmaster” to warn his teammate Merab Dvalishvili to be ready for him as he wants to fight the Georgian soon.

Cejudo is one of the most experienced bantamweights in the UFC. Even though he lost to Sterling, his advice would have been helpful for the former champion. Cejudo gives breakdowns of fights and gives fighters the necessary advice on his YouTube channel. Fans will look forward to seeing more accurate predictions and advice from Triple C in the future.
