How Deep Does Mark Zuckerberg’s love for MMA Go? You’d be surprised

How Deep Does Mark Zuckerberg’s love for MMA Go? You’d be surprised

Zuckerberg was lauded by many MMA Professionals for his skills

Mark Zuckerberg was considered to be among the most monotonous CEO’s of the big tech companies until last week. The CEO of META (Formerly Facebook) gained a significant amount of respect when he uploaded footage of him training alongside his friend and pro fighter, Khai Wu.

In the video, unlike many celebrities who post their training footage, Mark looks halfway decent for someone who’s likely not trained for most of his life and is in his late 30’s. In the short footage Mark can be seen throwing 1-2s followed by a swift leg kick. Along with this a short clipping of him sprawling to defend a takedown and also trying to sink in a triangle gave us a good idea of how far the billionaire has progressed.

While we’ve had billionaires like Donald Trump and a multitude of Hollywood big names grace our sport with their presence, Mark is undoubtedly the most high-profile and unexpected fan the sport expected. What’s more? His love for the sport apparently goes way deeper than one would imagine.

In the post where he showed off his newfound skills, the comments were filled with the top of the UFC food chain applauding his progress. Among the many, including big names like Conor McGregor, Alex Pereira, Alexander Volkanovski and Aljamain Sterling who gave props to the CEO on his skill.

Zuckerberg replied to each and every MMA fighter who responded to his post, often showing deep knowledge about where their careers are at this point like a normal fan would do. Even Joe Rogan applauded the improvements as Zuckerberg thanked him for having a conversation on the JRE.

Going even deeper we find that Zuckerberg follows 438 people on Instagram and almost a little higher than a quarter of them are associated with MMA or adjacent combat sports. Among these include top UFC fighters like Zhang Weili, Jiri Prochazka and even Aaron Pico of Bellator, names that one would not expect a casual fan to be familiar with.

Mark also has a deep love and respect for Jujutsu as he started training during the pandemic when a few of his surfing buddies introduced him to the sport. He follows well-known Jujutsu players like Gordon Ryan, Mikey Musumeci, and James Terry. Additional fun fact, the ADCC, one of the most highly regarded Jujutsu Competitions in the world follows only 3 people on their official Instagram page\ one of them being Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg who found the sport late in his life has said on multiple occasions that he believes it to be the best among all sports and had he found it in his youth he would have given competition a go. Even Dana White has said that he receives occasional messages from Zuckerberg and has said he is an ardent follower of the sport.
