Novitzky is solely responsible for the management of the anti-doping program in the company. The president of the UFC Dana White made a proposition to the former IRS agent to work for him under his company following his infamous Lance Armstrong bust.
Nicknamed ‘The Golden Snitch’, Jeff Novitzky was a prominent figure in the world of sports prior to his deals with the UFC. He specialized in investigating doping accusations in sports. He was a key factor in cyclist Lance Armstrong’s doping scandal. It is widely regarded that Lance Armstrong’s self-admission was due to Novitzky’s criminal investigation.
The former IRS agent was investigating the alleged steroid usage of cyclist Lance Armstrong. Although the investigation came to fruition, it was not concluded. The popular cyclist was witnessed on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ exposing his doping practices. The investigation was interrupted and ultimately, had to be shut down due to unknown reasons. Although it was not direct, it is believed that the case played a key factor in Armstrong’s admissions.
“While that was disappointing [the investigation ending], ultimately I think the same end game was met and that was, not just the exposure of Armstrong and the US Postal Cycling Team, but all of the professional cycling and what was really going on there,” said Novitzky to BBC Sport. The former IRS agent was unsure of the reasons for the case being shut down. He suspects ‘political favor’ and the role that had to play in the disheveled conclusion. Nonetheless, the real reason has not been disclosed.

“It was the first thing I was gonna bring up, this ‘Golden Snitch’ bull****,” said Novitzky. He continued, “Thanks a lot Schaub [Brendan Schaub]” “It’s all good though,” revealed the former IRS agent when asked about the offensive nature of the nickname.
Jeff Novitzky revealed that he was humorous about the nickname. He also said that he had no animosity toward Brendan Schaub, who coined the nickname, ‘The Golden Snitch.’
