Even though Alexander Volkanovski seems to have great striking skills, people seem to have concluded that he doesn’t because he doesn’t have many KO wins. Volkanovski is quite a successful fighter when it comes to winning them, but fans seem to think that he doesn’t have it in him to KO his opponents.

Volkanovski has a 22-fight win streak out of which he has won 12 times via knockout. So saying that he can’t finish his opponents via knockout is a lie. No fighter can have a winning streak this long and NOT have a KO. Let’s take a look at two of his most recent KOs.

It was still during his early stages in the UFC career when Volkanovski faced Chad Mendes. This fight, unlike the Korean Zombie fight, was a lot closer. At UFC 232, people saw a Volkanovski who could knock you out even if he was dragged down again and again.

This fight was a lot closer than one would like to hope. But Volkanovski made sure that this fight didn’t have judges’ involvement in it. Even though he got taken down a few times, he managed to defend them well and kept on striking Chad Mendes. Though he got rocked a few times by him, he managed to throw a hook and then the hammer fists that ended Mendes in the 2nd round of the fight.

Volkanovski got taken down and rocked hard enough to hit the ground a few times, but recovered before the finishing blow could be landed. He managed to show his hunger to win the fight when he came back and hit his opponent harder to win the fight. So, the perception that he cannot win via KOs is a lie.
