“How not to make weight”- Tony Ferguson recalls Daniel Cormier cheating the weighing scale, incurs the Hall of Famer’s wrath

Tony Ferguson accused Daniel Cormier of "Cheating" at the UFC 210 Weigh-ins

Tony Ferguson received his fair share of smoke, at UFC 274 when he had an enthralling first round against Michael Chandler and a devastating knockout in the second. Many have pondered if it’s high time for Tony to retire but the former Interim Champion thinks he has a lot more left to offer and that he was in his grove at UFC 274 after a long time. Tony has even gone on to congratulate Chandler for the iconic knockout calling it “a well-placed kick in the history books.” However Tony seems to have picked up a new rival, in someone we least expected, former two-division Champion, and now Hall Of Famer, Daniel Cormier.

The saga started in the lead-up to UFC 274, where Tony and Cormier had an uneasy 11 minutes in DC’s YouTube series, The Check-In. Cormier, who is the decade-long teammate of Khabib Nurmagomedov, often had uncomfortable exchanges regarding the former 115er with Tony, who was considered to be the biggest threat to Nurmagomedov in Ferguson’s heyday. This uneasiness spilled onto Twitter today as Tony seemingly took shots at Daniel Cormier for cheating at the weigh-in as he tried to make the championship 205 limit.

On Twitter Tony shared a video of the DC weighing in for his fight at UFC 210, where after having initially missed weight by over a pound and a half, DC returned in a short time, asking to be assisted with a Towel, so he could strip down. However, Cormier can be seen leaning onto the towel with both his hands, that may not make a huge difference but will certainly help him lose the extra pound or half. Unsurprisingly DC made weight on his second attempt.

Tony’s caption read, “How Not to Make Weight Ladies & Gentlemen.” DC, who was the light-heavyweight champion at that point was getting ready to defend against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and was given much more leeway than a recent Champion who missed weight received, a fact that Tony pointed out saying, “Shoulda Stripped Em’ Like They Did Charles Oliveira Shout Out To All Those Doin’ It Right.” The latest inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame wasn’t about to take the slander lying down and unleashed his wrath on a brutally honest Twitter post replying to Ferguson

Cormier said, “Tony please stop. Go and sit back for a little, tuck your head in a hole somewhere. Regroup man, recover spend some time with your family.” pleading with the 155er to stop as he was making DC, “sad” at his state and claiming, “It is not a good look” Ferguson, ever the trash talker responded saying, “Lay Off The Yay Buddy Not A Good Look” claiming that the Hall of Famer was making himself look sad, while also insinuating that DC uses cocaine.

Ferguson the said that he was already back in the gym putting in work asking DC to, “Enjoy retirement with Fathead” a nickname Tony assigned to Khabib Nurmagomedov after he had issues making weight for a scheduled fight between the two
