Justin Gaethje rates himself above his peers, as the biggest, baddest and most stylistic well-rounded fighter.

With the UFC 300 card edging closer, so does the anticipation for one of its megafights. “The Human highlight” – Justin Gaethje faces returning 155lber, Max Holloway on the card. Gaethje defends his BMF title against former featherweight champ on April 13 in Las Vegas. Recently, Holloway nudged MMA coverage journo Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports that he has big plans.

In his 25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC stat, Gaethje has won 20 of these in way of a KO/TKO. A feat for which he similarly praised peers Derrick Lewis and Conor McGregor as well. Gaethje recently attended the Celebrity Sweat Flag Football Game at the Dollar Loan Center in Las Vegas, NV. At the game, he ran into Belal Muhammad and had an interview with The Schmo (The Schmozone Podcast). He mentioned:

[On being remembered in history] Yeah, I've said it before. I'll say it again...most exciting, most consistent guy that's ever stepped in there...Dana has to have fantastic dreams about me, cause I've heard him talk my whole life. And I am everything he's ever explained in a fighter...when I step in there, everyone gets their adrenaline shot at once.

While his funny iteration about the promotion’s top honcho did raise an eyebrow on The Schmo, none of it is untrue. Introduced at UFC 244 in New York City, the BMF belt conceptualization came before that when Nate Diaz lauded and called out Jorge Masvidal as a dying breed of ‘gangsters’ in the promotion. Come UFC 291 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah though, Gaethje would bag it with a Round 2 TKO.

With a plethora of highlight matches that have over 100 significant strikes (SSL), Gaethje well deserves his gold. He can duke out and endure large amounts of punishments, making him a unique breed. Something even Max Holloway has commented on recently.

Justin Gaethje wants to stand out against Max Holloway

With the historic UFC 300 card on April 13 just around the bend, plenty of action is on the horizon. Two of the fights are at 155 pounds. Names like Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway, and Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan are already filling up the wishlist.

Holloway returns to the lightweight scene after a hot minute; 5 years to be exact. Fight fans and peers are split between the chances. Alexander Volkanovski veers toward Justin Gaethje probably beating Holloway at UFC 300, in a drawn-out hash. Meanwhile, Dustin Poirier (who Gaethje won the gold against) bets it all on Holloway naturally.

But Gaethje aims to finish big. Check out what he told MMA journo Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, in the tweet below:

And he nudged in as such yet again, in a recent conversation with The Schmo.

With a win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 291, Gaethje assumed he had earned the #1 contender’s spot. Champion Islam Makhachev himself called out and forwarned Gaethje, having overtaken expected rival Oliveira and rising prospect Tsarukyan. However, any hopes of a title shot are now a distant memory after the Dagestani suffered an injury.

Concurrently though, Gaethje hasn’t given up hope yet. Speaking to Iole, he had hinted that all four of them have a chance yet, at the 155lbs title gold. However, as evident, he values his chances above everyone else.
