Australian mixed martial artist Robert Whittaker competes professionally in the middleweight division of the UFC. He is also a former UFC middleweight champion.

He is ranked #2 in the UFC welterweight rankings as of November 15, 2022, and #14 in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings as of January 24, 2023. Robert Whittaker is clearly an established fighter in the division.

Recently it has been reported that Khamzat Chimaev is looking for competing in the middleweight division. He has challenged Alex Pereira, the current middleweight champion, and believes that he will take him out without even throwing a punch.

Chimaev allegedly accused Robert Whittaker of ducking his challenge. In the recent interview, Robert clears up the misinformation saying that he was never offered a fight and that he had been waiting for an offer.

Chimaev revealed to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that the former middleweight champion was the opponent for one of the fights he was given after winning at UFC 279 over Kevin Holland. Fans want to see Robert Whittaker back in the octagon.
