Ian Garry had a tumultuous period in the latter part of 2023. He recently addressed his controversies and claimed that he had more power than his counterparts. Here is what happened:

Ian Garry is making his comeback in his upcoming fight at UFC 298. He recently gave an interview with TNT Sports where he said:

You could argue that fight week, Leon and Colby or me, what was talked about more? Who had more traction going into that fight week? The champion and the No. 1 contender in my division, or me, the guy No. 10 in the world? So I have that power now, I have that traction, I have that publicity, I have people talking about me.

Garry said that the MMA community should be thankful because everybody who posted videos with his name on them got more views. He also said that there will always be haters and that the more success one has, the more haters they get. However, Garry said now people are talking about him. He will use the attention for the right things and not put people down. He pledged to use it for the right things and stay true to himself.

Ian Garry faced a controversial ending to 2023. Sean Strickland called out Garry’s relationship with his wife Layla Machado. Garry faced backlash due to accusations related to his wife’s book titled “How to be a WAG (Wives and Girlfriends of Famous Athletes)”. However, his wife dismissed the book as satire. Garry was expected to fight at UFC 296. However, his fight was canceled due to pneumonia although some accused him of hiding amidst controversy.

Ian Garry has an upcoming fight at UFC 298 against Geoff Neal. The fight will take place this February at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The two were originally supposed to fight at UFC 292. But Neal’s withdrawal from the card changed the plans. Garry is currently an undefeated welterweight fighter and has six consecutive wins in the UFC.
