Ian Garry, who is fighting Vicente Luque at UFC 296, is in the midst of a controversy. His relationship with his wife is a topic of debate in the MMA community. Moreover, news broke out about Leon Edwards‘ coach kicking Garry out of the gym. Now, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub provided a solution for Garry. It had something to do with 8 Mile film.

Schaub, in a recent episode on his YouTube channel, urged Garry to have an ‘8 Mile’ moment at UFC 296. 8 Mile is a world-famous semi-biographical film based on the life of rapper Eminem. Eminem himself portrays the protagonist in the movie, B-Rabbit. This is what Schaub told Garry:

You get through this sh*t  storm that you're dealing with, and you head-kick Vicente Luque. You get on that mic, and you rip the hottest freaking promo, calling out Sean Strickland and Leon Edwards, going, Yeah, you, you, you B-Rabbit, you 8 Mile this thing, and go, 'Yeah, my nutritionist did used to f*ck my wife.' Yeah, you old-school this thing, dude. Take the power back.

The ‘8 Mile’ moment that Schaub referenced is the climax of the movie when Eminem preemptively addresses his opponent’s potential insults in a rap battle. Schaub wants Garry to do the same after he knocks out Luque at UFC 296. Moreover, Schaub also wants to utilize the controversy to get big fights against Sean Strickland and Leon Edwards. Thus potentially becoming a double champion in the UFC.

Schaub, in a recent YouTube video gave advice to Ian Garry to seize the moment at UFC 296 amidst controversy. Moreover, he even sang a parody version of the ‘8 Mile’ song for Garry. This is what he sang.

Even though his comedy specials received negative reviews, his parody ‘8 Mile’ song was entertaining and relevant to the issues Ian Garry faced. Like Garry, Schaub has also faced controversies and has risen. Nevertheless, the controversy has made Ian Garry the center of attraction over the UFC 296 headliners.
