Aleksandre Topuria is the older brother of surging UFC featherweight Ilia Topuria. Like his brother, Aleksandre competes in mixed martial arts as well. He is expected to debut in the UFC soon to follow in Ilia’s footsteps.

At 28 years old, Ilia Topuria’s brother, Aleksandre fights around the bantamweight and featherweight divisions similar to him. Ilia Topuria confirmed in a 2023 Spanish interview that the UFC has signed his older brother. He stated that Aleksandre will make his promotional debut in March 2024.

Aleksandre Topuria competes in mixed martial arts just like his younger brother, Ilia Topuria. However, Aleksandre has spent most of his career fighting on the regional circuit in Spain. He has not yet achieved the high-level success of his brother, Ilia in the UFC.

Aleksandre continues training alongside his brother, Ilia as they push one another daily in the gym. They share a close bond as both rivals and teammates. Now, Ilia Topuria’s brother looks to follow in his brother’s footsteps into the UFC soon. Ilia claims the promotion has signed his older brother to compete starting in March.

So while Aleksandre has not matched Ilia’s resume yet, he is an experienced fighter in his own right. If Aleksandre can translate his regional success onto the UFC stage, he can prove himself a force like his respected brother.

After a second submission victory, Ilia Topuria’s brother suffered the lone loss of his career in May 2015. He dropped a decision on the undercard of a Spanish event. Subsequently, Aleksandre took a lengthy hiatus from MMA competition.

He returned in 2021 and has since racked up three dominant knockout wins in a row. Riding the momentum, the elder Topuria is looking to join his brother in the UFC’s rankings soon. Both Aleksandre and Ilia are skilled in Judo and wrestling. However, the younger Topuria is considered one of the hardest strikers in the featherweight division.
