Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera headlines the UFC 299 PPV this weekend. With the bantamweight title on the line and past history between them, this is one of the most anticipated fights. Now, former champion Aljamain Sterling revealed a shocking detail about Chito Vera.

Aljamain Sterling allegedly stated he received insider information that Chito Vera had difficulties in training camp. As such, he predicted the UFC 299 fight and sided with his former opponent, Sean O’Malley. Here is what Sterling said:

The only thing I’m concerned about is that I heard . . . he (Chito Vera) didn’t really have a great camp or a lot of guys to train with. So, I don’t know how true that is, so with that said, I’m leaning towards O’Malley to get it done. I’m gonna say, I don’t think he finishes him, (wins) by decision. Maybe split decision, I’m saying split decision.

Further, Aljamain Sterling previewed the fight and insinuated it to have a low output. As such, Sterling compared it to Francis Ngannou vs. Derrick Lewis or Carla Esparza vs. Rose Namajunas 2. Both these fights were heavily criticized for their low-output nature and the fighters’ timidity to engage. However, he advised Chito Vera to follow the boring pathway as it was the way to beat a counterstriker like Sean O’Malley.

As such, he looked confident in his abilities and predicted he would make O’Malley quit. Check out what Vera said below:

Sean O’Malley and Chito Vera fought earlier in 2020, and Vera won by TKO. Now, with ‘Suga’ having the bantamweight title, the stakes have gone up for the rematch.
