“Everything you say makes no sense,” Islam Makhachev brushes off Charles Oliveira’s claim of unfair fight in Abu Dhabi

Charles Oliveira will have his title rematch against Islam Makhachev after a year since he lost the lightweight belt. This fight will be the main event at UFC 294 on October 21, held at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. But according to the former champion, the venue is not fair.
In a recent interview with James Lynch, the Brazilian expressed that he doesn’t think the title fight in Abu Dhabi is fair to him. Oliveira mentioned that he will have to take on that challenge as the champion Makhachev has taken the call. However, Islam Makhachev has a different opinion about this whole scenario and the fighter made a tweet in order to give his response.
He wrote. “Charles, I asked to fight in US in the summer, but UFC has other plans, I am a UFC fighter like you; I never set the conditions for the UFC and fought where they offered, my last fight took place in Australia at the challenger’s backyard. simple, everything you say makes no sense.”
Makhachev revealed that he was ready to fight in the US but the promotion didn’t allow it. The Dagestani stressed the fact that he’s a fighter and doesn’t choose venues. In the end, Makhachev claimed that Oliveira’s claims don’t make any sense at all.
Alexander Volkanovski picks Islam Makhachev to be the better grappler in comparison to Charles Oliveira
The last time Alexander Volkanovski lost a match was when he went against Islam Makhachev with aspirations to become the new double champion. However, the night didn’t go in his favor and he lost the bout in an agonizingly close fight.
In his YouTube statement, Volkanovski stated that he believes Islam is the superior MMA grappler to Charles Oliveira. The fighter also went on to claim that even in a jiu-jitsu match, he would still favor Islam to emerge victorious over Charles.
Volkanovski gained personal experience in the octagon, facing Makhachev’s formidable grappling skills. Despite managing to stand up on numerous occasions, he struggled to contend with Makhachev’s relentless pressure during their lightweight title bout at UFC 284, ultimately losing the fight by decision.
