Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland had a heated rivalry before their fight. The trolling and the taunts did not end even after the fight. Meanwhile, Adesanya also has beef with Dricus Du Plessis because of his ‘real African’ claims. Thus, everybody wanted to see what was Israel Adesanya’s reaction to the winner of UFC 297.

Israel Adesanya posted his reaction to the fight on his YouTube channel. Adesanya had a pretty neutral reaction to Dricus Du Plessis winning the decision at UFC 297. Meanwhile, somebody from the back said “What a reign though”, referring to Strickland’s short-lived title reign as middleweight champion with zero title defenses. This was when everybody burst out laughing.

Dricus du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland in a split decision at UFC 297. It was a closely contested match. Du Plessis secured the win by a narrow margin. The judges scored the fight 49-48, 48-49, 49-48 for Dricus Du Plessis. Both fighters incurred heavy injuries during the fight.

Despite the loss, Strickland graciously congratulated Du Plessis and expressed confidence in his own performance. Strickland claimed that a headbutt caused a severe cut during the fight. Du Plessis however denied headbutting Strickland, saying that he did not feel or remember any headbutts during the fight.

Sean Strickland defeated Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 last year to become the UFC middleweight champion. Strickland, who ranked #5 in the middleweight division, won by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring 49-46 in his favor. Strickland dropped Adesanya in the first round and kept up the pressure throughout the fight.

Fans were amused by Israel Adesanya’s reaction. Some trolled Strickland in the comments while others trolled Adesanya back since he lost the fight to Strickland at UFC 293. Dricus Du Plessis is the new champion and Adesanya and Du Plessis were the original contenders at UFC 293. It will be interesting to see if Adesanya makes an early return to fight Du Plessis for the middleweight title again.
