Watch: Israel Adesanya crosses paths with Mike Tyson and Terence Crawford at UFC 277

For not seeking the finish in his recent fights, Israel Adesanya has been called a “boring” UFC champion. Both of Adesanya’s previous two title defenses have ended in decision victories. ‘The Last Stylebender’ went all five rounds with bitter rival Robert Whittaker in February and defeated Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision last June.

Some fans have criticized Adesanya for being content to go the distance when he could instead try to finish his opponents. Joseph Holmes, a middleweight prospect, has called Adesanya “boring,” but understands why he fights the way he does.

 Israel Adesanya is all set to square up against Alex Pereira in their fight

Israel and Pereira recently competed in UFC 276 on July 2, 2022. However, given that both of them emerged from their respective victories relatively unscathed, we may see the two former kickboxers square off in the Octagon sooner than one might think.

Pereira enters his title fight against Israel Adesanya with a unique history: he has two wins over the champion from their kickboxing days. One was a decision victory, and a few months later, he knocked Adesanya out cold. It would be Izzy’s final kickboxing match before switching to mixed martial arts full-time.

Additionally, On Israel’s youtube channel, he posted an interaction between Mike Tyson and Terrance Crowford. The interaction with Mike involves Israel informing him about his teammate, Kai fighting on the card this past weekend. Terrance and he embraced each other with love and respect. Both combatants are top of the food chain in their respective sports. The two then take a photograph with each other, to see the entire visual interaction. Here is the video:

UFC 279 takes place on September 10, and UFC 280 takes place on October 8, 2022. UFC 281 takes place on Oct. 22 in Abu Dhabi, followed by a stacked return to Madison Square Garden in New York in early November.
