The upcoming EA Sports UFC 5 is causing a lot of buzz, particularly with its choice of cover athletes: Alexander Volkanovski and Valentina Shevchenko on the standard cover and Israel Adesanya on the Deluxe edition. This marks the return of the video game franchise after a three-year hiatus and this time it promises an array of new features, creating a unique and highly anticipated gaming experience for its dedicated fanbase.

It’s the second time Izzy will be featured as the cover fighter in the history of the video game. By doing this, Izzy has now leveled Conor McGregor as the only two fighters who have appeared in 2 different EA UFC installments. McGregor was featured in EA UFC 2 in the past alongside Ronda Rousey and in the later version, the Irishman was alone in EA UFC 3. Similarly, Izzy and Jorge Masvidal appeared on EA UFC 4, and now Izzy is in the Deluxe edition of EA UFC 5.

While talking about it, Adesanya at the UFC 293 media day said, “I played the game. It’s better than the last one. Like the fluidity, the buttons are changed a little bit. I don’t want to give too much away but it’s really good. And there’s some surprises, you guys will really like this game. It’s cool. I don’t know if anyone has done it twice. Conor, sweet,it’s cool to be on that same echelon of a guy who’s done twice as well.”

The selection of cover athletes in the EA Sports UFC franchise has raised curiosity for a compelling reason. Those chosen to grace the cover tend to be at the pinnacle of the competitive world of the UFC. Being featured on the cover is synonymous with being acknowledged as one of the most exceptional, if not the absolute best, athletes within the UFC.

This time it’s the UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, and given the performances he has been putting out the last few years, Fabs believes that there is no one who deserves the position more than him.

The Deluxe Edition of UFC 5 will solely exist as a digital release, meaning buyers won’t find “The Last Stylebender” featured on a physical box. The developers have been rather secretive about the game’s details, leaving fans with the expectation that Adesanya will likely receive an exceptionally high rating in the game.
