Israel Adesanya grew up very much integrated with the Indian Bollywood culture. The UFC fighter recently revealed on a podcast how Bollywood was a part of the culture during his days in Nigeria. Israel Adesanya is back on the top of the roster. After defeating former rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya became the UFC middleweight champion for the second time. Since then, he has moved around doing different activities and appearing on podcast episodes.
In a recent episode of the ‘Flagrant’ podcast with Andrew Schulz, Adesanya talked about many different things. Adesanya revealed how big Bollywood movies are in the Nigerian culture. Adesanya is a good dancer. The fighter revealed how his family considered anything other than a doctor, engineer, or lawyer a failure, similar to the prevailing beliefs in India.
He also discussed how they grew to appreciate it and revealed his favorite Bollywood movie. Israel Adesanya revealed how he used to watch the 1977 Bollywood movie Dharam Veer on VHS repeatedly. “That was part of the culture,” he reiterated.

Israel Adesanya plans to visit India in 2023
