UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya grabs the spotlight on a weekly basis. This week, Adesanya came up with something unusual that puzzled the MMA community. ‘The Last Stylebender’ tweeted a picture where he hugged his BJJ coach, Craig Jones. It did not take long for fight fans to express their feeling about the picture and his comment.
Israel Adesanya wrote, “Striking is boring, pssshh knockouts… I wanna choke some men unconscious.” Despite his incredible fighting style, Adesanya rarely maintains his behavior on a public stage. He does not care about his celebrity status and lands in trouble from time to time. He praised the efforts of Andrew Tate, Jordan Peterson, and David Goggins for their take on masculinity. Adesanya agreed with their takes and decided to get nail polish, completely dismantling his take on masculinity.
Adesanya remains without a challenger for his next title defense. He will wait for the winner of the Dricus du Plessis vs Robert Whittaker bout at UFC 290. Adesanya has already beaten Whittaker twice and will hope to fight a fresh challenge in du Plessis. Du Plessis and Adesanya have insulted each other in the last few weeks. It came to a boiling point when du Plessis’s coach came out and made a post on Instagram.
For the time being, Adesanya will remain active on Twitter until he can find a new opponent. Recently, he made a controversial statement about the comic book character He-Man and its new pronouns in the “woke world.” It looks like Adesanya will continue to irk fans with his tweets until he finds a new opponent.
