Unlike anything witnessed in combat sports, Alex Pereira and Adesanya have a unique rivalry. Pereira and Adesanya fought each other as kickboxers, and Pereira defeated Adesanya twice. Years later, Pereira chases down Adesanya in MMA and defeats him.

However, Adesanya managed to defeat him at UFC 287. Adesanya does not look forward to another fight with Pereira. Nevertheless, he has a condition to fight Pereira again. He said, “If he wins the belt at 205 I’ll do it again. But if not – I think he’s done with it. I’m done with it. I think everyone else wants to see it, but we’ve moved on.

At the moment, neither wants to compete against each other. It could all change if Pereira finds success in the 205-pound division. The former middleweight champion will make his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291 and will look to fight for the title in the division.
