“Spitting Barz” Israel Adesanya shares a heartbreaking endorsement video for Democrat Gary Chambers supporting abortion
Adesanya voices his support for choice
Israel Adesanya may annoy some people with his talking but one thing the Kiwi is, a socially aware athlete. Being Flamboyant on the mic nd socially aware is something he shares with Gary Chambers, the democratic nominee for upcoming Senate Elections In Louisiana. In the past, notably during the 2020 global BLM protests, Izzy was among the first celebrities from New Zealand who kicked off and took part in those protests.
Today Izzy took a stand for another issue he cares about, the right to choose/abortion. As the world knows now, America’s supreme court has overturned the verdict of Roe v Wade, a judgment that for so many years stood as a standard bearer and beam of hope for women all over the country who knew they would always have the right to choose what’s best for their body. By overturning it, the risk of abortion being banned in multiple states becomes a real threat.
Israel today, posted a video endorsement on his Twitter, by the Gary Chambers Senatorial campaign and it’s a rough one. The video talks about the risks that women face in the future in light of Roe v Wade being overturned.
Israel Adesanya supports abortion rights by promoting Gary Chambers’ PSA
Posting to his Twitter, Izyy shared the video with the caption quoting lines from the video, it read, ” ‘…women will die, and there is nothing pro-life about that.’ Spittin’ Barz!!! ” Shot in a very grim setting, the video opens up with Chambers walking around a graveyard as the narration informs us of the risks facing women in the future in light of the decision taken on the 24th of June.
Further, the video goes on to talk about how banning abortions doesn’t reduce, but on the contrary, increases the number of procedures that take place. The only difference in these scenarios is that the latter quite often is an unsafe method, done through illegal means due to fear of punishment. Chambers also describes how a law banning abortion will disproportionately affect the poor and minority communities the most.
Chambers also goes on to talk about how more than anything his fight was about having the government interference in one’s personal life choices reduced to a minimum, a sentiment Izzy shares across the board due to his experience dealing with Authorities and training for upcoming fights in isolated camps.
While Izzy has briefly mentioned people in US Politics before, this is the first outright endorsement of a candidate that the Kiwi has done. Although he didn’t tag Chambers in any capacity, sharing the campaign video surely means Izzy at the very least was touched by his message.
In the cage, Adesanya is set on a collision course with his former Kickboxing rival and the only man to knock him out, Alex Pereira. Pereira earned the title shot by defeating #4 ranked Sean Strickland in the very first round
