Israel Adesanya is an MMA superstar and frequently gets all the attention of his fans. However, the fighter found himself on the other side of the exchange when he recently met Dave Chappelle.

The “Last Stylebender” couldn’t contain his excitement as he made a tweet regarding his meeting with Chappelle. In the tweet, Izzy mentioned how he unexpectedly met Chappelle and was evidently “starstruck” at the time.

“Just met Dave Chappelle, and now we’re cool,” he wrote. I’m starstruck!!! Yes I am!!!” 

Dave Chappelle is undoubtedly one of the biggest comedians out there, and he has a great deal of respect in Hollywood. Chappelle has been in showbiz since the 1990s and has appeared in many TV and comedy shows. Chappelle has multiple Netflix specials. Chappelle is an icon, and it’s natural for even someone like Izzy to feel overwhelmed by Chappelle’s presence.

Israel Adesanya wants to be at the top when he decides to retire from MMA

For a few years, Israel Adesanya was the face of the middleweight division until he was dethroned by Alex Pereira. Currently, the fighter is preparing for his rematch against the Brazilian at UFC 287.

In the last fight, Izzy looked good and was dominating the fight, but in the last round, she got knocked out brutally. In a recent interview at UFC 284, Adesanya revealed that he’s planning on leaving the sport at the top.

He said: “I love this sh*t and I’m f*cking great at it but I never attach myself to this and I’m gonna leave on top. So yeah, that’s the best way I feel like you should leave. But again, I’ve been here five years in the UFC, (snaps fingers) it went like that. We’ll see how long I’m here for but I don’t think it’s gonna be five years.”

The rematch between Izzy and Pereira is definitely going to be an amazing fight. Even though Pereira has an advantage over Izzy, the Nigerian still has a huge chance to redeem
