Israel Adesanya reminds Alex Pereira's training partner Glover Teixeira of his goal of beating the brazillian

Even after losing thrice against Alex Pereira Israel Adesanya is far from letting go of the rivalry. The ‘Last Style Bender’ recently uploaded a video on his YouTube channel where he can be seen running into Glover Teixeira. The former light heavyweight champion, who is also the coach of Alex Pereira, greeted Izzy and both fighters shook hands respectfully. However, Izzy made his intentions clear by mentioning that he is still at war against Pereira.

“It’s still war. No, not now, like it’s still war but always respect…And I like your story visa issues, all that kind of s**t coming through, congrats…..It’s still war, you already know. It’s always respect, but it’s still war,” said Izzy

Teixeira also showed the same sportsmanship and accepted the war but was extremely respectful, which is expected from him. Despite having fierce rivalry, both parties showed maturity after the fight. Izzy took the loss like a champ and Pereira also credited Adesanya for the fight. The rematch between these two is one of the most anticipated fights and Glover Teixeira will be there in Pereira’s corner to help the champion. However, before that, he has to take care of his title shot.

Teixeira lost his light heavyweight title earlier this year while fighting against Jiri Prochazka. The close fight definitely made way for the rematch which fans have been waiting for months. However, things are different as the polish vacated the belt due to his shoulder injury. This paved the way for a title fight between Teixeira and Jamahal Hill for the vacant spot.

The fight is going to take place at UFC 283 on January 21. Ahead of the title fight, Teixeira assured that he’s currently not thinking about retirement after the Hill fight.

He said: “It definitely won’t be any retirement now. never make plans for the future. I live in the present. I don’t have such plans, ‘I’ll retire at that date.’ The day I retire will be the day I’m training poorly when I don’t want to go to the gym anymore.”

Teixeira is 43 years old and during his last fight with Prochazka looked incredibly amazing considering his age. The fighter definitely has the capability to fight the best light heavyweights in the world. However, the results of the fight against Hill will be a crucial factor in his retirement.
