Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis’ grudge fight for the UFC middleweight title is off the table for now. Recently, In a video message on Twitter Adesanya vented, claiming the South African title challenger injured his foot and couldn’t fight at UFC 293 in September. As a result, he declared that Sean Strickland, the next top middleweight contender, is now his first pick, and Du Plessis drops back to second.
“I don’t even know how to start this, but ‘Dricus du P****,’ you f****** b****. [Du Plessis said], ‘Oh, all he had to do is put some gloves [on], I was ready to go again.’ No, you weren’t, you’re a b****…Strickland, you’re in, let’s do the man dance, show you how to really dance.” said Israel Adesanya.
The last time Sean Strickland was close to getting a title shot, he got knocked out by Alex Pereira; however, the American has bounced back since then. The fight fans are surprised by the news about Du Plessis not being able to fight as his rivalry with Izzy was turning out pretty good.
