The fight between Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya had many entertaining elements to it. From Strickland’s impressive performance to the trash-talking that took place from both sides before the fight. Strickland had trolled Adesanya with a video of Stylebender with his dog that fans had resurfaced. However, it looks like Adesanya did not appreciate the trash talk concerning his dog.
Adesanya expressed his dismay about the trash-talk from Strickland after their fight at UFC 293. Strickland was appreciating Adesanya when the former champ told him to not joke about his family. He said, “Don’t ever disrespect my family. I know you think I f**ked my dog. That’s my dog, it’s no bullsh*t.” Adesanya also pointed out the tattoo of his late dog on his neck.
This all started due to Strickland’s controversial comments on a video of Adesanya rubbing his dog’s genitals. Strickland roasted Adesanya throughout the entirety of their press conference and on social media too. However, Adesanya had vowed to take revenge against Strickland in their fight. Despite his warning, Adesanya did not look like himself at UFC 293.
It is still too early to say the long-term implications of Strickland’s victory. However, it is clear that he is a force to be reckoned with in the middleweight division. He will be a tough test for any fighter who steps into the cage with him.
