Alex Pereira came up on his YouTube channel giving an update about his future in MMA. Also, Pereira talked about his long-time rival Israel Adesanya’s win and his reactions after UFC 287.

Alex Pereira is one of the most dangerous fighters in MMA. Now as he had fought against Israel Adesanya four times, he gave his views on how this win mattered to Adesanya. Since the year 2016, they have had 4 bouts where 3 have been won by Alex, 2 in kickboxing and 1 in MMA. However, in the last bout, he lost against Israel.

On his YouTube channel, he said, “All of you saw the provocation from Adesanya after the fight. He acts as if he has won against me three times, but it’s not like this”. He also said that he understand what it means to Adesanya as he was not able to defeat him in the last 3 fights. So it was like his dream that he wanted to beat Alex Pereira at least one time.

“But I understand, or try to understand the happiness he has. It was his dream to win one time against me, and now he did. But let’s see what will his behavior be. I’m going up to light heavyweight because it’s a good option for me, but I’m sure if I would stay in this division, I can fight against him directly.”Pereira continued to explain why this win was massive.

Alex “Poatan” Pereira is now moving to the 205 weight class -. light heavyweight. Now, ‘Poatan’ will be fighting probably for the light heavyweight title. But with this, he also explains there is a change in the behavior of Israel Adesanya as he started to give provocative statements which he doesn’t care about anymore right now.

Alex said,“He’s behaving like this because Dana White spoke after my fight about my weight. And it seems like he is thinking ‘Oh, this guy will never make weight again. I can provoke him, because he won’t do anything.’ I’m sure if I insist on fighting him immediately, the UFC and my promoters will make it happen,”

But Alex has different plans now as he has different goals in MMA. He also clarifies that he is not after making weight again for the middleweight category because he used to do the same in Glory Kickboxing. In kickboxing, he was a title holder in both Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions.
