The twenty-first century has witnessed the rise of the LGBTQ+ community into the mainstream. The unheard voices of the past remain unheard no more. The mainstream media have platformed them and supported them in their “Pride” marches. Recently, Serbia organized a Pride march for the family unit. Former UFC title challenger Marvin Vettori saluted the efforts of the Family Pride march.
Vettori comes from Italy. Italy is known for harboring the importance of families and nuclear families. Hence, Vettori could identify and praise the family pride march. However, it did not sit well with some social media users. They went out of their way to insult Vettori and used CTE as a tactic to mock him. Vettori has absorbed hundreds of significant strikes in his career. Usually, absorbing that many headstrikes has a better chance of leading to CTE.
In the past, social media users bashed Marvin Vettori for supporting Andrew Tate. Vettori has a conservative mindset but does not go out of his way to talk politics. He remains focused on fighting and trying to win a world title. Recently, he lost to Jared Cannonier in a five-round slugfest. Vettori won the first round, but Cannonier returned in the second to dominate Vettori for the rest of the fight.
Cannonier rocked Vettori multiple times, but he survived the onslaught. Fans praised Vettori for having an iron chin. Any other fighter would have gotten knocked out with such punches landed by Cannonier. It remains to be seen when Vettori could return to the octagon.
