Nate Diaz is making his boxing debut against Jake Paul later this year. The two faced off at their first pre-fight press conference. However, Nate Diaz’s real-life persona caught Paul off-guard after their intense social media feud.
The UFC veteran showed respect for their first media appearance together. He came late for the press conference but remained in good spirits after arrival. Nate Diaz made a few snide remarks but did not outrightly disrespect Paul, unlike their heated exchanges online. Diaz said he was saving the fire for the latter parts of the upcoming fight, but Paul took his meekness for weakness. Paul said, “he (Diaz) acted like a bi**h.”
Paul continued, “He was calm, respectful…it was interesting…he talked that s* *t on social media, he says everything in interviews, but today when I was face-to-face with him, he acted like a b**ch.” The two faced each other at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Diaz will look to defeat Paul and conquer the boxing world before returning to the UFC.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul is coming off a loss against Tommy Fury. Paul is still one of the most profitable social media stars. His smart marketing strategy and opponent selection will continue to interest the fight fans. In his career, Paul fought high-profile athletes like Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Ben Askren. Fans highly anticipate his upcoming boxing clash against the popular Nate Diaz.
Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul at risk for marijuana consumption

The Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul boxing match remains a highly anticipated bout. Dana White, along with most of the MMA community, mocked Paul for fighting middle-aged MMA fighters in a boxing bout. However, it appears the bout may not happen at all. Texas Commission suspends fighters from competing in competition if they fail marijuana tests. The state of Texas has a no-tolerance policy on marijuana consumption.
Nate Diaz is an avid consumer of marijuana. He always smoked marijuana before his UFC fights. However, he did not smoke in Texas. USADA allows the consumption of marijuana during fight week, but they will not conduct drug tests for Diaz and Paul. The Texas Commission will conduct the tests for the boxing PPV.
Nate Diaz did not know about the no-tolerance policy on marijuana in Texas when he signed the contract to fight. His team stated they would seek arrangements for a loophole or a special use case to avoid cancelation. Fight fans eagerly anticipate some good news in the midst of constant chaos.
